We had the best time at Metrocon – such a wonderful weekend spent with 5 other designers. We laughed (a lot), did a little work, and shopped. Definitely a great bonding time for all of us! There were two things that made my trip AWESOME. First – a possibly the absolute best thing ever – was our personal tour with the designer of One Arts Plaza. Seriously, you must go check out this building. Luxury living at its best. The second thing that was ridiculously cool was celebrating Jills birthday (early) at the Rainforest Cafe. Volcano cake and all. I even got to take home a mini ladybug made from a balloon. Oh, and how can I forget? I finally got to go to Sam Moon. (shhhhh. Don’t tell Alex, bust I spent a fortune there!). They sell jewelry and purses….and there were so many people there that you could barely make your way through the store. I LOVED IT (yes, I am a necklace junkie at heart).
Anyway, now that I am home I have a ton to catch up on. I still have to create my round #2 layout for the Treasure Hunt, and catch up on all the chatting I have missed. School starts up in one week so I need to get the boys ready for that. Football starts for Ben tomorrow, and John on Thursday (along with Meet The Teacher Night). So much to do!!
While browsing online tonight, I found this challenge blog for those of us who have lost someone that we love. Its called Good Grief. I haven't played along yet, but I will. God has truly been placing people & challenges in my life – in my scrapbooking – that are pushing me towards scrapbooking my daughter. It’s hard, but necessary. This week my baby would be starting Kindergarten. But she’s not, and it’s hard for me. Instead of crying (like I want to) – I am CHOOSING to focus on the happy things and move forward. Random chatter, I know.
